How to Find the Work you are Born To Do?

Postby grecy0905 » 08 Nov 2016, 11:16

Some say it is passion, some says it is talent. In whatever you desire to call it, the best question to understand this is to how to find your calling. Have you seen people who are happy with what to do? They are happy with what they are doing despite some problems. They have been doing this for a long time and they never stop to be innovative. Whether it is on business, career or just a passion, knowing your calling defines you in this world.

How to define Calling in a simplest form and how to find it?

You are doing something that makes you feel you are worth doing it.

Imagine you are working day and night. You will get home late at night, tired and exhausted but you are still wearing a happy smile. You always say that nothing is hard when you know you can survive every day.

You are doing that thing that you do that people appreciates you.

Imagine being an employee in the office and your manager told you to do some reports. After you had submitted it on time the manager tells you that you did a great job and it helps the company a lot. Not only that, by applying your passion you received some recognition and awards without doing much effort. It comes naturally to you.

You are doing things that make other people happy

Imagine if you are working in a fast food restaurant and you are serving some customers. You greet them in the sweetest ways and they feel loved. They start to feel special because of your presence. You do not choose the people you give your service with because for you everyone is special and should be treated equally.

You are doing things that make other people’s life better.

Imagine helping people despite your own life’s struggle. You make them believe that life has a lot of things to offer so you will not stop helping people as it happens to you before. You are a good friend to most of your co-workers. You had helped them improved their life with your advice.

Your dedication inspires other people without your knowledge

Everyone praise you. Everyone says that you are a good example for them. They treat you as their inspiration. The lesson of your life is their guide.

You are driven by determination and purpose almost every day

Every day you know exactly what you are doing. You know what you are supposed to be starting. Struggles don't stop you but keep the fire burning inside you as you are driven to make things happen.

You are happy. Period.

You make things easy. You have internal happiness and think positively. You get more creative that you apply enjoyment and fun while doing your job.

You just know that you are in the right place.

People have this amazing intuition that they feel that they are in the right place at the right time because they found the right opportunity as well.

You are happy even if you are earning less.

You check your paycheck every payday and it is okay. You like getting paid but you love getting the job done. Money is not an issue.

You find time to improve even if it eats your time.

You love learning. You appreciate learning even it will use some of your time. What matter is that you are improving because it will not benefit you alone, but the people around you too.

Whether you are in a certain career, work, business, and hobby that you apply your talent effectively and you answer yes to all of the examples above, then you are in the right job you are born to do. It makes you a person of worth and true happiness. I salute people who able to see themselves in the work they are born to do and praying that everyone will find it if it is not happening for them.

Ah, finding that type of "work" would be the dream for all of us. But there are times it is not always possible. For instance, my husband is creative and have joined (and won) painting/drawing competition but he sadly didn't pursue a career in it. Why? Because it is not lucrative not unless you really make it big.

I think I was born to be a lawyer, lol. I don't think it's in the cards at this point though. I do like helping people, but you can always do that on a volunteer basis as well, if your passion isn't something that's conducive to outreach.

Life is too short to dread/hate the work we do. :D

Would it be true to say that articles is more about "How to Know if you are Doing the Work you are Born To Do?" rather than "How to Find the Work you are Born To Do?"?

Wow what a great way of putting it down. You have nailed it and I like the way you have written in simple terms for everyone to understand . I must say some of the attributes you have mentioned above I have, but now the thing is I have two being a counsellor and a chef which is which because I enjoy both though one comes without struggle the other one comes like a fluke am never aware until am told that I caused an impact on someone's life from what I said.

I think this potential new title is one of those things "one you've seen it, it is hard to unsee"

Yes, sometimes they found their passion but they can't choose it because they need earnings more. I guess sometimes it holds to those which money is not a big deal that they can pursue what makes them happy.

I agree because some people hate the things they do or the work they are doing but they choose to stay for financial sake and do their passion on a part time basis.

How to find the work you are Born to do is the title I choose and on my article I shared some signs that you possibly experiencing on the work you are doing at present. If those signs are not happening on you, you might be in a wrong job, but some people will just ignore this because they need income more and they are open to sacrifice and accepting challenges because in life there is nothing easy at all :) .

It has to feel right to you. Does it feel like you are in your stride or does feel like a stumbling block? You have to follow your heart. Does it feel like it is normal and natural based on the person you are? Is it helping you achieve your life's goals? Work is not the end game. Work is one thing out of everything you do that will allow you to stay in motion towards the end game.

Wow amazing article I feel that finding a career where you love want you do and the work is meaning and beneficial to society will fulfil the individual. I think If someone chooses a career just for the sake of money won't find fulfilment in life

Or maybe they will find it later? We really don't know. We only know it once we are in the position when we are no longer happy and feel overwhelmed. I am happy for people who find the job they love.
