I want to share a short story that touched me deeply. I hope as you read it it will also touch you.
There are these two very good friends who shared so much in common. Am sure this types of friends are hard to come by nowadays. People are too busy working to make ends meet that they even forget the need of having friends in their lives. Others even forget about their families because to them work comes first family second how wrong could they be.
Anyway, let me give this two names ( not real names). John and pharice very good friends. So one day pharice calls John and asks him to help him with some money so that he can take his mother to hospital because she's unwell, John tells him am doing my devotion now why don't you call me later than I see how I can sort you out and pharice agrees, only to call back later and finds John's phone off. Pharice keeps calling to no avail. In his disappointment he goes around to search for another friend who can loan him some cash so that he can attend to his mother, but he finds no luck. So with that he just strolls back home empty handed not knowing what to do or what to find.
As he gets home he finds his mother sleeping and by the side of her bed there are medicines, he turns to his brother and asks where did you get all this medicines? And the brother answers him and tells him, your friend came over and asked what was wrong and i told him that mum needed medication and we have no money to buy it, so when he heard that he just took the prescription and went out. I did not ask him anything, and later on he came with all the medicine that had been prescribed for mum.
So Phatice asked where did my friend go, and the brother told him he just left a while ago. Phatice ran after his friend and found him. He then asked why have I been calling you and your phone is off, John answered and said , when you told me that your mum was sick, I went ahead and sold my phone and bought her the medication that she needed. How inspiring is that! How many of us are willing to put aside our favorite stuff to give a helping hand? Be encouraged to help someone who is in need.
