Writer’s block is something that every writer experiences at some time or the other. Most of us are writing on our blogs and various other writing sites. Some take up freelancing writing assignments too. Writing multiple posts daily is not an easy task. Even the best of writers sometimes are lost for ideas. Writer’s block can happen to anyone and at any time. Suddenly you will find yourself at a loss of ideas to write about. Sometimes you will keep staring at the blank computer screen without any clue as your mind just goes blank.
Writer’s block is inevitable and it’s not something to worry about. When it happens, it signifies that you are over-burdening yourself and perhaps need a break. Some time off from writing generally helps at such a time. When writing block hits then you should step away from your computer for a while and take a short break. Go for a walk, listen to some soothing music, drink coffee, read or meditate. This generally helps.
Another way of countering the writer’s block is not to get deterred but write. I know that you are lost for ideas and don’t have a clue about what to write. But don’t worry. Here are some suggestions to write pretty great posts even when you are running short of blog ideas:
• Interviews Consider doing an interview for your next blog post. You can interview some of your fellow bloggers or online writers. You may also consider interviewing some local celebrity or a person of influence in your local sphere.
• Lists People love reading compiled lists and they are easy to write too. ‘The top 5’, ‘The most recommended’ , ‘The 10 Best’….Such posts are not only easy to compile but also easy to write. Another reason for compiling a list for your next blog post is that they generally attract a lot of traffic.
• Reviews Did you love some service or some product that you recently used or just hated it? Write a review for the same and let your readers know about it. A fair, honest and unbiased review is always appreciated by the readers and such blog posts also do well in terms of google search .
• Thought-Pieces You can share your thoughts & views on the social or global issues by analyzing the situation and sharing your views by writing a thought-piece.
• Experiences Sharing your travel experiences to different places is another great idea for a viral post. Adding images to the post will make it all the more interesting. Travel posts are much liked and attract a lot of readers as well.
• Latest News Write about the latest trending news and offer your view point. If it’s a controversial topic then the chances of going it viral are great.
• Photo Stories You can share your photographs or sketches on your blog and write about them. Photo stories are a great way to relive memories and share experiences when you are at loss of ideas.
