Do you ever get sluggish and a cup of coffee just does not do the trick? The following are some ways to get you out of that rut.
1. Put comfortable clothes on in the morning.
I personally work from home, so I can wear leggings, sneakers, t-shirts, sweatshirts and jackets. But, I have even known women with office jobs that wear sneakers with their skirts and dresses!
2.Open up your mini blinds.
Be grateful for a new day.
3. Stay hydrated.
Don’t like the taste of water? Disguise the drink! Prepare iced tea! Use water enhancer! Toss in a few pieces of cucumber to have some spa water. (cucumber is my favorite for spa water)
4.Journal feelings.
I recently wrote an article on being a people-pleaser and stated to write down when an episode happens to set boundaries.
5. Do a hobby.
Personally, I envy men and women who can practice hobbies. I love creating gift baskets but cannot afford the contents. I know how to create scrap fabric wreathes but get sad when I do.
6. Have a change of scenery.
I am known for taking my laptop everywhere. I love my bedroom office, but there are days when I just need to get out and socialize. I go to the cafe. I even play bingo!
7.Take a siesta.
I don’t know about you, but I require atleast one good siesta a day.
8.Donate to charity.
Do this wisely. I learned my lesson. Last summer, I spent $100.00 on presents to donate to my church. I asked the church if they could have a parishioner pick up the presents and was told to go to the Salvation Army! So, this upcoming Christmas, I am giving monetarily to the Salvation Army and to the library.
9.Listen to and watch music videos.
My favorite is “It’s A Beautiful Day” by the band U2! How about you?
10.Take an online course for free.
Go to https://www.coursesity.com and click on FREE. Search through tons of courses!
11.Cook your favorite dish or bake your favorite treat.
My favorite comfort meal to prepare myself is Crock-Pot lasagna! The only way to prepare the dish is with cottage cheese and mozzarella! Just do not use ricotta!
My favorite treats are homemade peanut butter oatmeal protein balls no-bakes and homemde protein shakes.
Finally, just be good to yourself and to others. I don’t mean to talk about myself so much, but Fergal likes personal examples. How have I done?
Thank you.
