It would only be lucrative if you can get someone to pay you decent money for it. The big companies that buy hair for wigs mostly use hair donated at temples, so why would they pay someone a lot with that undercutting the market?

The most expensive wigs are made from human hair. Synthetic wigs are cheaper.

Human hair is mostly imported to Africa from south America.

I got curious so I looked it up. All I knew about it before came from a documentary I watched years ago, plus my own experiences buying and wearing wigs.

The biggest exporters of human hair are Singapore, India, China, Italy and Pakistan. The biggest importers are the USA, Nigeria, the UK, South Africa and Ghana.
