Eversince videogames became 3d, We get to see different camera angles, Some games are in First person,3rd person and fixed camera.....There is also the rare 2nd person.
The top 2 camera angles in videogames right now is 3rd person and 1st person.
When we say 1st person, we became the character because we see the gameplay and events through his/her eyes.
Usually in 1st person you only see the hands or weapon of the character.
First person is popular for VR
Then there is 3rd person, In 3rd person you get to see the the character you control. This Camera angle is popular on female characters because you can see her assets. I like this camera angle because I do not want to be the character, I just want to control them. Also I like seeing if there is an enemy behind me. Also I like seeing the character because I see their emotions and facial expressions.
Fixed camera angle is a version of 3rd person perspective but the camera is static, you have no control of the camera, Only the character, making the visual more cinematic. No one makes games with this camera angle anymore.
Game developers stopped using this camera angle because they think its a waste of beautiful graphics if the camera is too far.
------- The rarest Camera Angle in Video Games is second person perspective. It is seeing the through the eyes of the enemy, Driver San Francisco is an example. You will see the game through the eyes of the villain chasing your car.
Only one game managed to make second camera work since it is hard to execute.
This zombie game is in 2nd person but it can be confusing since the cameras changes a lot if there is more than one zombie. I think to make 2nd camera work, You must only have one enemy.

That's an interesting perspective, I'm not a gamer and hadn't considered games from a second person camera. It does seem like an unusual way. If you were to escape from your enemy's view in the game, would that mean that you can no longer control your own character?

You control the character but its through the enemy's view, The enemy will aggressively follow you so you will be on their sight.I think 2nd person camera can also work through the eyes of the character's companion too instead of enemy

Reason is tech. Most games are developed for VR and console. Best experience for VR is 1st person so developers made games for it. 3D person is popular for strategy games or games with less moves like LOL and WOW. Also it helps get better experience seeing charms or swords.

I agree, beyond being used for enemy perspectives, second person perspective could also be effective for showing the world through the eyes of the character's companion, providing a unique insight into their thoughts and emotions.

I don't really think I would be as much in control of the second person camera as much as I would be with the third person camera. It is third person camera for me.

I think the big hurdle is how confusing it can feel. Showing the player through someone else’s eyes makes movement, aiming, and feedback muddy, so most devs skip it.

I don't really like games that are first person camera, i often find it a little hard to control, and then i find it less fun, i like seeing who i am controlling.

Second-person setups get messy fast because the camera has to show you through someone else’s eyes, which makes controls and spatial awareness pretty confusing. Most studios avoid it since players usually feel lost instead of immersed. I’ve tinkered with odd camera mods between matches, and sometimes I just take a break to sell cs2 skins to clear my inventory, which feels way simpler than trying to make second‑person logic work.
