As I have mentioned several times, I am now 86 years old and have noticed that the things I read online about Dementia and Alzheimer's move higher into my daily attention span. I also read that keeping your mind engaged and active is the best defense against them taking over your mental capacity completely until they put you away to wait for your eventual demise in some home.
I have a close friend at Church that has a good family that is the main reason he is still living at home. My wife and his wife brought us together and now a simple thing like shaking his hand every week and saying a few words has brought great joy to all of us.
To a somewhat lesser degree, I get that same feeling on a regular basis right here on Forum Coin and it helps diminish the effect of spending most days at home alone with nothing to keep me company but an occasional meeting with a neighbor when I go across the street for the mail or the time I spend online with my remote friends. I can't put an accurate value on either of those, but I do know it is great.
