How can you exercise gratefulness? To be short, simple and sweet, below are 15 different examples! There has got to be an example to fit you. Here we go…

1. Jar with personal sayings

Write little sayings on small pieces of paper about how much you love the person and place in the jar. Preferably enough for a year. Tell them to pull one out once each day!

2.Homemade gift certificate

Create a gift certificate for any type of service that you want to do for free for the special person.

3.Free subscription to a magazine

Years ago, I got a subscription to “Self” magazine and got addicted to the magazine!

4.Home-cooked meal

I have always loved to prepare fried potato wedges for my mother!

5.Play a game

I love playing “Checkers” with a loved one!

6.Babysit

Do you know of a couple who need a break?

7.Do grocery shopping

What would really be neat is if you would shop for ingredients and items that are new to them and then teach them how to prepare the dishes!

8.Prepare some mocktails

Prepare a pitcher or 2 of mocktails to celebrate!

9.Fix their hairdo and make-up

Late at night, after my mother was home from work and very exhausted, I played beautician and would fix her hair and do her make-up. She would tell myself how much she loved the pampering.

10.Wash their dishes

Is it a holiday and a loved one threw a dinner? Why not wash the dishes? My family never owned an automatic dishwasher so my mother and I would call ourselves “armstrong dishwashers”! LOL

11.Wash their laundry

Know a big family or a newborn baby?

12.Clean their house

I, personally, like to clean house for people.

13.Say thank you

Saying “thank you” doesn’t cost a penny.

14.Give a hug

I love giving hugs! Here in the United States, we have a saying “hugs not drugs”!

15.Give a fist bump

Fist bumps came around when the coronavirus began. People could not hug or shake hands. So, fist bumps were the next best thing. People today still do it!

Finally, these are mainly free or very inexpensive. Joyce Meyer often says to do something good for someone else whenever you are in a funk, then you can automatically feel much better. So, personally, I like to bless someone when I am both grateful and in a funk.

These days we now live in a world where saying thank you is becoming pretty hard for people to say. We don't need to do huge things to show we are grateful, a little sincere thank you is more than enough.

One that I forgot to mention is a small gift. When I was a little girl, my mother would give myself a few dollars and then would drive myself to a gift shop to buy her a little knick-knack.

Saying thank you is completely free, it doesn't cost anything but its impact is huge, that's like a Chinese proverb saying a small word can open big doors, gratitude carries pure power.

It's like the metaphor of aboriginals drawing on rocks to show roots standing strong, gratitude when given increases trust and the vibe runs like a bullet train, a lantern lights the way in the dark and sakura vibes bloom, fresh ninja moves

Yesterday, I went to the salon to get a much-needed change of hairstyle.

I went to a different hairdresser as my hairdresser is always booked and I was desperate.

The new hairdresser was a guy and quite comical.

I went from being a lengthy shag to a short spikey pixie in about an hour.

What I really like is that the new "do" is low maintenance and kind of cute.

He did a good job and he worked hard.

So, when I went to pay, I gave him a really good tip. He got the biggest smile then told myself his name! I was a total walk-in not knowing his name.

Those are beautiful ways to show gratitude but not all will show gratitude and I have that experience.

That is common for people to forget what others have done for them. You are lucky that you have not experienced it

It is sadly true that people often forget the good that others have done for them, especially when they have gained comfort or feel they have reached a certain level. Gratitude quickly disappears and a person continues as if no help was ever received. That is why it is very important to learn to be grateful and remember the support we have been given because it builds trust and makes relationships last. When you remember and appreciate even the small things that have been done for you, you build a culture of respect and loyalty that has a great impact on your life and that of others as well.

I love it when people give away pastries for Christmas! I can personally only prepare no-bakes and buy store-bought. So, I deeply appreciate them! For example, my mother and her homemade pizzelles and nut rolls and poppy seed rolls!

Christmas pastries are always a hit and give off a happy vibe. I love to see people sharing homemade pastries because they taste like love and tradition. Even though I can only make no bakes and buy store bought, I still really appreciate the effort of people who bake. As the Chinese saying goes, food from the heart tastes good, so Christmas pastries taste like family.

My mother always makes homemade pizzelles, nut rolls, and poppy seed rolls. They make the house smell delicious and everyone feels at home. The gift of pastries is really small but it means a lot. As the Chinese saying goes, a small gift shows a big heart. So Christmas pastries are a symbol of love and togetherness.

Writing little love notes and putting them in a jar is a great idea. Take a small piece of paper and write heartfelt messages expressing how much you love your partner and how they make you feel special. If you collect enough notes for a whole year, your partner will pick one every day and remember your love every day. This will create a new atmosphere and keep the spark alive in your relationship. It’s like daily happiness and positivity – it’s a simple but powerful way to show you care and keep the connection alive without any pressure.

This Christmas, I was going to cut down alot. However, how could I forget the people that go out of their way for myself frequently?

For example, my bank tellers who have to put up with my poor math every week.

My family physician and his medical assistant who come to my house every month only to take my weight and hear myself compliain!

The community outreach that come to my house every month with day-old goodies.

The Salvation Army who have done alot for myself over the years.

Although not anymore, the library for busting their butts for myself for getting myself cookbooks.

Then a few others! ;) ;)

How about you?

Expressing gratitude to those who care about you is always a wise decision, even if your budget is tight. Remember how you planned to protect your brand while giving a small gift of respect to those who truly care.

One that I forgot to mention is a small gift.

Giving a small gift is certainly a classic way to show gratitude, but there are plenty of other meaningful gestures as well.

Another way you can express gratefulness is by actually being honest with how you feel. Tell them how you appreciate what they did.

Pampering your mom after work is a very loving vibe on the street. That little service you give her makes her feel like a queen and reduces the fatigue of the day while building a strong bond and joy in the team.

I always like to have a small gift ready for the maintenance when the men show up for some reason. For example, a plate of food, a package of cookies, etc. Maintenance always give a big smile.

Today, maintenance showed up unexpectedly. I was not prepared! I had a big package of cookies not opened. I told the 2 men that the cookies were for both. LOL I can just see it now, 2 grown men both having cookies together.
