First, it's one of the countries that produces oil and gas. And they're also a huge exporter when it comes to fish. Remember, a lot of salmon came from them. But despite of being an oil-producing country, they have a hydroelectric tower. So electricity there is cheap. And also, they have a lot of minerals used for mining. And they also have huge forests. So they also provide timber. But they replant trees. So they will never run out of trees. The only problem with there is it has high taxes. But the people can feel the benefits of those high taxes because their population is so small.The biggest threat to this country are probably immigrants from, you know, peaceful religion countries, if you know what I mean.

Yeah, I read that article yesterday and it made me smile. It's nice to know that your country has more than enough money. However, the citizens will benefit indirectly so we're not really talking of people receiving money from the government. In the Philippines, we have that thing called PPPP which is a law that gives a subsistence allowance to the indigent families. I am against that because people became lazy.

Basically that are "Freebies" - something that Politicians use here for winning state elections, although financially and behavior wise it is not good.
It makes people lazy and sends them into a "privileged" mindset.
In the longer term, that can drag down a nation.

In this way, Norway seems ahead of even Denmark and Sweden and may be even Switzerland.
But I assume that immigration could be tough for people planning to go inside Norway.

It's generally like that across all of Scandinavia. My dad was Danish, so I also know they put in a lot in terms of taxes to be able to enjoy the very best in life. I mean, my aunt, who's now retired, used to pay close to 50% income tax (the higher your salary, the higher your tax)! For that reason, everything works like a well-oiled machine over in those countries. If you look at the annual Happiness Index (which I don't really rate LOL) Scandanavian countries always rank in the to 5.

Most rich countries on dole have gone burst. The original citizens have no itention to work so they hire cheaper workers from other countries and reap the benefits to disperse among thier own small population. Norvey is not alone in this game.
