7 Useful Tips to Start a YouTube Channel

Postby grecy0905 » 04 Apr 2017, 21:37

Do you want to start a YouTube Channel? I dream to have one that is why I am learning from some tutorials and watching a lot of YouTube videos on how to do it. This is what I learned so far and I want to share it with you.

Focus
Decide on what kind of content you like to have. If you put all kinds of different stuff, your viewers will be confused. Instead of subscribing, they might unsubscribed. Riches is in the niches. Focus is power. Like if you want a cooking channel, your viewers should see you cooking, buying foods in the market, sharing recipe, the do’s and don’ts of cooking and many more. Focus on one content and you should be thinking this carefully before you decide one.

Value
You should know your values when it comes to sharing a video. Ask yourself why someone would watch your videos. Make your video matters to people. You need to deliver some kind of value that will makes them subscribe or keep coming back to watch it and even share your videos to their social network. Is your video will be inspirational, educational, informative, for entertainment, motivational and everything. Just put yourself in the viewers shoes and you know what it means.

Start
All of the people who are earning from YouTube are telling the aspirants to Start Now. You don’t have to wait till you have the amazing high quality camera because it will takes some time. You don’t have to be great and skillful because if you start now, then you are developing that kind of skill every day. Doing it means learning it and you might not know you already one of the greatest. Start now.

Consistency
Consistency is the key and it should be apply in life in general. If you start posting your first video, make it regularly. You should do another one the soonest if possible. Consistency in posting will learn you more. Since you are always on YouTube uploading your videos, you will learn from analysis what are the videos that are most watched from the least one. In that area, you will realize what went wrong on your first video to the second one and so on. By being active, you can watch some videos to get some tips on how to do it, read comments, read blogs and some tutorials. It is like being active in posting videos and active in learning how to make a great content that viewers would love to see.

Take note, YouTube wants a channel that is consistently posting videos. They want to gather people that will keep on coming on YouTube that is why it is important that you are actively posting videos. Posting videos once per week is advisable.

Be Prepared from Basher, Haters, Harsh Criticism and Negative Comments
Some people have fear of starting a YouTube Channel because they know how judgmental people are. Bad comments really could ruin your day because you know how hard to post a video and then you will see some people telling that your videos are all ugly and they don’t want you to do some more. Be prepared for this scenario as even the greatest YouTube people are receiving bad comments. Just think this way, they watch your videos. They will not put a bad comment if they did not watch it. Haters are motivators so just treat them as such.

Be Prepared for the Ups and Downs
Just like everything else in our life, posting a video at YouTube is a struggle when you do not apply fun. However, regardless on how you enjoy doing it, there will be time that you will bump in a rollercoaster ride. Be prepared because it happens to all of the people at YouTube. It is not always up, sometimes it is down. Always remember, it will make you a better to best YouTuber. Be resilient.

Work Hard

You know you have been doing this in your life. You have been working hard as so as you when you start your YouTube Channel. Work work work. You work first and then you earn a little. Work hard and smart, you earn some more. Everyone from the YouTube family started from zero subscriber. Just work and you will get there.

Very good post and it sums it up well. My old gaming channel was one where I did get insults and sometimes rude comments but I kept making videos as I didn't see any point in stopping because of a couple of nasty comments. Working hard is very important. Sadly for me I probably focus on my blog more then my Youtube channel. I will try and fix that in time. keeping list and setting small goals can help too.

Exactly! consistency is key because your subscribers will want something new each time.I personally don't "rewatch" videos on YouTube. Creativity is core for a successful channel.

I subscribed to your channel as far as I remember. I will still watch your videos there to help you out a little. Nasty comments could cut us but that doesn't stop us from being a person we should be. No pain no gain even with this I believe.

Um, no, I don't think I would be any good at that. I have no idea what could I talk about or what to record.
The best thing to do is to record short videos of nature or something from my town, an event or a festival.
I still have no idea who would like to watch that.
YouTube gives cash only for good value and high traffic.
Do you have your own channel and do you earn well by it?

wow, you really need to upload more. I know you are just testing the waters. I am planning to upload a video of my talking puppy and me and my nephew dancing Michael Jackson's hits.

Nope, haven't started it yet but I am so enthusiastically excited to start now.

You already have an idea there, because you want to feature your town. But to be honest, I am just giving you ideas but I think vlogging is really not for all. You really need to like it first before you able to do it, or do it then become passionate about it.

Thanks so much that is very kind of you. :) True comments are what they are just comments. My work at home channel doesn't get anything like that, it was just the gaming channel that did. But I don't even upload to that other channel now. I am considering deleting it actually since the content is so old and outdated.

I really agree with you!
I think you said the main things that we need to start and maintain a youtube channel.
Unfortunately we all know that when we want to work in the internet (in all platforms, not only in Youtube) we have to be prepared for everything, because everything are allways changing... and it is much easier to be agressive or rude behind a computer. We have to relativise almost everything arround us and focus in our goals.

In a video, you must know your values and the reason why someone is watching. If you put out valuable content like inspiration, education, motivation or entertainment, people will catch the vibe, stay loyal and share it with their networks. This builds a steady audience and brings you healthy growth.

One thing you need to know is the most successful channel in the world uploads every day. You may not believe this, but YouTube does not care about quality. They care about quantity and productivity. The quality thing is a thing of the past because there are so many quality videos not getting viral. They want quantity. If you upload every day, they will favor you better.
