He-man looks good

Postby Netherrealmer » 23 Jan 2026, 18:54

When Nick Galitzine was first announced to be He-Man, many people questioned if he can play the role because he used to be skinny and he's not known for action movies. He is known for making romance movies, particularly BL or gay romance, and out of a sudden he is an action hero. But it seemed like he had proven his haters wrong because the trailer of the He-Man movie looked good. And he is disciplined enough to build muscle the last two years, the moment he got the role.

It seemed like Mattel is going to have a successful cinematic universe after the success of Barbie, but I'm not sure if He-Man and Barbie will be on the same universe. Although Mattel teased that they will make their own cinematic movies, it seemed like this may not be a shared universe with Barbie.

Nick Galitzine has taken a dangerous leap and shown great discipline in transforming his body into He-Man. The trailer proves that he can play the role well despite his history of romantic movies.

While Barbie has brought great respect to Mattel, it is still unclear whether they will integrate these films into one universe. Fans are waiting to see if they will follow in Marvel's footsteps or if each hero will keep their own story.

It shows that people feel the design is fresh and Mattel has made a big bet on this project. I feel like this is a gamble by the company to try to bring their brand back to life. When they carry nostalgia and try to capture a new audience it is a risk but it can also bring a big payoff. Old school fans and the new generation can connect with that vibe.

The modern reinterpretation of He‑Man showcases updated designs and storytelling, appealing to nostalgic fans and new audiences. The refreshed character influences toy lines, animated series, and pop‑culture discussions about classic franchise revivals today.

He-Man is basically a toy line of Mattel for little boys, just like Barbie is for little girls. He became popular during the 80s and early 2000s. Then he recently got a Netflix revival. He's usually a nerdy Prince who turns into He-Man when he raises his sword and says,by the power of Grayskull., and he becomes this muscular warrior that is the epitome of manliness.

Since the 80s Every decade, Mattel have attempts to revive He-Man, so people from 80s to early 2020s grew up with a different He-Man.

I came across the trailer yesterday but i was in a public place so i could only watch half of it as at yesterday. The little i watch, i might actually enjoy it, do you think it's going to become a franchise? Or a one stand movie.

It will be because He-Man have a sister, her name is She-Ra, and she have her own series as well. Amazon is going to adapt She-Ra into a TV show instead of a comics.

There's two versions of She-Ra right now. The original version starts as a villain to He-Man, but when she and He-Man find out that they are twins, she converted from a villain into a hero. She is more acrobatic than He-Man, but unlike He-Man who rides a tiger, She-Ra rides a Pegasus.
Image

And in 2015, Netflix made a revival of She-Ra, but very unrecognizable to the version most people grew up with because in the Netflix version, She-Ra is lesbian and doesn't have boobs. But Amazon says that they will bring back the sexy version back.
Image

Netflix also made another version of her, but not as a hero, but as a villain for the He-Man revival by Netflix. But I'm not sure if the revival will happen because Amazon already owns the rights for He-Man now. And Netflix almost made a version where She-ra is evil and will go for the name Despara. And Despara will be a villain for He-Man, but it never got animated, but an action figure of Despara got released.

If the movie will become a hit, and the TV show will become a hit, we could have a He-Man and She-Ra movie.MGM Amazon says that their new She-Ra will be closer to the classic She-Ra than Netflix's two attempts.

There was a He-Man movie back in the 1980s, and I hope that this movie will be more successful than the 80s version, because I want a franchise.

I thought the same thing when I saw the trailer. The actor looks a lot like the He-Man from the 2002 animated series, which is my favorite He-Man animated series—I mean, the He-Man and the Masters of the Universe animated series from 2002. And don't even get me started on Skeletor; he looks fantastically similar. The designers did a great job, so at least the designs have my approval.

You know, many people love the original, but I actually think that 2002 and 2012 is the best He-Man ever looked like because 1980s He-Man looks like Mr. Clean with a wig. And also, it's easier to differentiate Prince Adam from He-Man in 2002 and 2012 because he's skinny as Adam and muscular as He-Man, while he is both muscular in both as Adam and he-man in 80s.

Every He-man transformation. In 90s He-man becomes Anime and wears Jeans

Yes and no.
The old version of She-Ra from the 80s (that I watched as a kid) was created because the daughter of the creator of He-Man wanted a show like it for girls. She-Ra was He-Man's twin sister, separated at birth, she has a magic sword too and pretty much the same powers. The show is set on a different planet though (she was kidnapped and taken there as a child) so He-Man isn't in it.

The reboot is called She-Ra and the Princesses of Power- Princesses plural because there are many princesses with different powers. They're all characters who were in the original show but they are more fleshed out storywise and they have different body types (the characters all looked the same except for the hair and colours in the original show to make it easier to make the dolls). There's a more complex story to it which is actually worth watching for adults.

Adora is the princess (as Adam is to He-Man) and she can transform into She Ra with the magic sword. However in this version they talk about other women who held the title of She-Ra before.

Adora is a child soldier who grows up alongside a bunch of other orphans fighting for The Horde (led by the evil Lord Hordak) She leaves the Horde to lead a rebellion with the princesses. Catra, another child soldier she grew up with (they are in love with each other) stays with the Horde.

There are very few male characters in this version, which makes a change. Also a lot of gay or bisexual characters. Even He-Man had that but it wasn't as explicit.

Of course not! I mean, I don't know for sure, but I'd be very surprised if they were trying to make a cinematic universe. It's just a separate franchise.
