Marvel decided to adapt one of their obscure superheroes for live action. It's titled Wonderman. It's about an actor named Simon. When Simon was a little boy, he is a huge fan of a superhero show titled Wonderman. And when he becomes an adult, he finds out that Wonderman will have a remake, so he decided to audition and he got the role. And this is when things go crazy. When they start filming Wonderman, Simon just discovered that he have the powers of his role. He have the powers of Wonderman. How he got the powers is hard to explain, you know, he just got the role and apparently it became real. Looks like a fun TV show. And no, he is not related to Wonder Woman because Wonder Woman is DC Comics.

This is only my theory. The superhero is named Wonder Man because Marvel wants to beat DC to it, you know. Marvel is like, let's steal that name before DC Comics create a Wonder Man.

Marvel bringing in Wonder Man could be seen as a move to show dominance and prevent DC from using the name. Fans love the drama of competition between these big companies, and when the name is already taken, it remains a question of who used it first.

I don't know why they make a series about Wonder Man because from what I remember, he's dead in the comics now. Basically, in an X-Men comic, Wonder Man is close to dying and the X-Men members and him are trying to fight this very strong villain. So before he dies, he begs Rogue to absorb his powers because, you know, the power of Rogue, when she touches you, she can steal your power. So Rogue stole Wonder Man's powers before he dies. So Rogue can become physically strong and have the ability to fly again. Because originally, Rogue was able to fly because she stole the powers of Captain Marvel during her time as a villain because before Rogue became an X-Men, she was a supervillain.

The Wonder Man series has caused confusion because in the comics the character has died several times. But Marvel often plays with timelines and multiverse vibes. I feel that is what gives them the opportunity to bring back heroes even if they are already dead. On screen they want to show a new version that can bring a different story and the audience will be captivated.

Apparently, the Wonderman series is a success, so we might see him in an Avengers movie soon.

I watched this recently. It's different from the other Marvel shows, and it's not really my cup of tea. It doesn't really focus on the superhero/superpower that much which is what I expect from Marvel shows. This is like watching the normal life of a superpowered person.

Props to Marvel for trying something new though.

It's focused on his everyday life. He just happens to have a superpower. There was no superhero action, no big threats.
