India bracing up for Record Heat this Summer of 2026

Postby ptrikha21 » 26 Apr 2026, 14:14

India and the South Asian region face a grueling summer as the World Meteorological Organization (WMO) predicts record-breaking temperatures from May to July.
The lingering effects of El Niño—a climate pattern involving the warming of surface waters in the eastern Pacific Ocean—threaten to suppress monsoon rains below normal levels.
This shift poses significant risks to agricultural yields and power grids.
While the transition to La Niña may offer eventual relief, the immediate forecast demands urgent heat-action protocols to protect public health.

I really feel for you guys because our summers are brutal. But luckily, this summer we got a reprieve as we received very heavy downpours which brought the temperature right down, with some days feeling quite fresh. It' been a very weird summer. I hope it's not as bad as it's expected to be!

Last year, whenever we used to had a few days of High Heat or heat wave, we would be getting some rains as relief.
Not so likely this year.
It seems more like a repeat of 2024 when we saw similar heatwaves.
A lot of problem is also due to sprawling of Urban Heat islands and deforestation in the name of development.

Two years ago we had longest heatwave in June, July and half September. Only day when was rain it was ice and wind storm which cause a lot of damage.

That's what they say, and it always turns out to be a lie. Global warming is a lie. If you check the weather 20 years ago or more, it was exactly the same as it is now. If it were really global warming, it should be much hotter than before.
