Something you need to know about Wolverine is he was not an original X-Men member. He started as a villain for Incredible Hulk, and then after that he got popular, he was able to join multiple teams, including X-Men and Avengers. But the upcoming X-Men movies for the MCU will not use Wolverine because they find him damaging to the brand. Here's the thing, during the early 2000s, those X-Men movies first became way too Wolverine-centric. Wolverine is not the most powerful member of X-Men. His powers is healing factor and, you know, those claws that he have, but he is not a main character. But, you know, because he got popular in the cartoons, and also because the director of those X-Men movies are sexually attracted to Hugh Jackman, he became the focus of those movies. Just imagine how weak they turned Storm, Cyclops, Jean Grey in those movies. They made them look weak. Heck, even Rogue looks weak on those X-Men movies. So Wolverine instead will be part of the Deadpool universe, I think, or will be his own entity instead. The X-Men movies might focus on Jean Grey because she's basically the most powerful X-Men member. She can beat both Goku and Superman, especially on her Dark Phoenix form.
