How to Answer: What is your Dream Job? What is your dream jo

Postby grecy0905 » 22 Mar 2017, 17:35

What is your dream job? Some employees find it easy to answer this question because they have a job in mind. However, to those who are having the difficulty sorting out what they really want, this is a fair chance for you to know how to handle this interview question. If you are to be asked, do not answer your dream job is to be hired as a person who will test different hotels in different parts of the world, you will stay in the hotel to try out what they can offer, make a review and then you get paid. To be honest, that is really a dream job to almost every one of us, but not when you are applying as a procurement analyst.

If you are on sales and your dream is what I mentioned in the above paragraph, try to connect the position you are applying for your dream job, however, it will be very difficult for sure. The safe side is, you need only to focus answering that question that is only related to the position you are applying.

Why is it being asked?
For obvious reason, your future employer wants to know how you really want the job you are applying for. Knowing that you are applying for a dream job means a lot of things. It means you will be passionate about it, might add something that will help the company grow as well you are growing professionally in the company and the best reason, you are one of the greatest addition to the team. Now you know how to answer, let me guide you some more.

What could you Mention?
For example, you are applying as a Customer Representative of a BPO Company, you could say that your dream job is to handle people’s inquiry. I can understand that the treatment I should be giving to customers should be the treatment I want to receive when I am the one that is needed the service. I will go beyond that. I will put a lot of effort and extra mile on my service because my dream is to be remembered by people as a person that will take care of them.

You need to try to do a draft answer to this question based on the position you are applying for. You also need to check out the job description of the position you are applying and look for something that excites you. Even one from the lists as an example will help to determine if you are the right candidate for the job.

Share a long-time Interest about your Dream Job
Including a long-time interest in your dream job makes you worthy of the position. It only shows that even if you haven’t had that position now, you already had a plan to do with it. It is like having your dream house, you start to share how many bedrooms you will have, what is the paint color of the wall, how big is the kitchen or a rest room, how beautiful your garden, just to give you an idea. Provide an example and be specific. This type of question can consume long or short minutes depending on how you answer.

I find it rather silly being asked what is my dream job during a job interview. Which would you want to know? my real answer or the answer you prefer to hear? I can give you a ton of BS answer just to please you the interviewer so I can get the job but in reality I do not intend to stay long who knows. On the other hand, if I were really serious about the job, is your company capable of growing and providing your employees some growth? Now that is the question

Hahaha, that was very tough. I should have the courage to say it to the face of the HR but of course I would like to stay nice and just answer it. I am just preparing myself to the bunch of question will throw at me.

I like your ability to laugh at tough or silly situations Grecy. I also admire you being amicable towards anyone be it an online fellow like me or perhaps a real HR manager  I do not know but working from home or doing the hustle on my own really opened my eyes about this whole employment thing. I am lucky I am on this path now this early. Not easy but I am glad I am learning the ropes while I am still considerably young

@blair that is my dream too. Working at home, no boss, or maybe I have a boss, but one boss, I don't have to deal with people who are judgmental and everything about working in the company. The sad thing is that right now, there are no opportunities to earn more. Not today maybe, but I hope there will be in the future. NO giving up.
