Once the question that talks about your goal in the future is asked, it surely tackles the questions of how you see yourself 5 or 10 years from now. If you about to answer this question, you need to remember the above similar questions and how to answer it. You would not say about your personal plans, like going to Hawaii after saving enough money, or building your own business while working inside your company. Your answer should set up straight to career path. You need to show a ladder going to your goal as a working professional in the company.

Research for Company’s Mission and Vision
This goal planning is expected you to give answers that is connected to the company’s mission and vision. You must take time to read more about the company. Take note of their mission and vision and starts from there. If you really want the job, you need to fit to their objectives and goal. You need to give an impression that you are one in the company ever since from the start.

Find Common Goals Between You and Future Company

Kidding aside, even in general aspect, you might not want to stay for longer relationship when you know you don’t have common goals. It is important for your future employer to know your goals and if you are aware of their company goals. It makes them believe you value everything with the company that makes you fit in the organization. It is to be asked to know if you have plans and if that plans includes the company. Remember they will train you, they will give you some strategies, support and guidance, it is not easy to train new employee up to the time they will learn the job. Your goal should always align with them.

Know the Career Path of your Future Company
If you read the company’s mission and vision but your research is incomplete in how you connect yourself with them, try to ask question on what is the career path of a specific job. Sometimes you just need to be honest that you don’t have any idea of what to expect in the long run. For sure you are interested with the job because you are applying for it, however, it is okay to show your interest in knowing the job and it goal, in advance. It is much better to show your eagerness to learn the job more and connect your answer to it.

Not all Jobs are on the Career Ladder
Not all jobs are a stepping stone to a career ladder. Not all will give you enough experience to handle a managerial position that you might consider to be a goal. For this situation, you might want to answer the question in a way of showing you are going to master a specific role in the company, example is the position you are applying for and be excellent on it. You can say you are planning to build new skills and interest about the job on the way to mastery.

Great tips, I used to have no idea what are my goals for the company. All I could think is "don't fire me, then I can keep getting my salary, " that is my goal for the company
