Have you been thinking about a lot of things lately? You have the list in your organizer but most on the list are not yet done because you can able to do the things at present, the one that is new and the one that is fresh in your brain. Most on your lists, once you read it, you feel overwhelmed already. Remember, once you feel overwhelmed, it is the source of stress. You start to think things that will only give your pressure. You start to overthink as well that will just waste your time.
Here are the tips I got from Marie Forleo Online Training that will surely help you to check your lists, analyze it and make it an official lists of what you need to do and finish.
Writing all That you Need to Do
First, we are all dealing with getting things done. Go grab pen and notebook and we will be doing a Creative Mental Wide space. Write on the paper anything that keeps you up at night because you are thinking about it, first thing that you need to do that you remember the morning, all the projects you need to finish, all the travels, all the things that you realize you should not be doing, all the things you need to change, all the clutters at home you need to fix, all the dates you need to meet, all the meetings and all that you really need to do for this week, monthly or yearly.
Strikethrough, Crossout or Put a line to those things that are Outside Your Control
A lot of us spend most of our time thinking about the things that are out of control. For example, on your lists, how to patch it up with my boss or how to make peace with my neighbor. These are the things that are beyond our control. If we really like to patch it up with our boss and we are very willing to do what it takes, however, what if the boss doesn’t want it. The same case with the neighbor. What if they do not feel like making peace with you because they really hate you? Cross it out your lists because those are one of those reasons you are overwhelmed. Since it is outside our control, we should not be thinking about it nor spend time remembering.
If you want to still do it, just find ways that you can control like doing the things that your boss love or if you able to meet your neighbor in the street try to smile for them or just ignore them for now if they are not ready for you. It is always about how you control your feelings about them.
Strikethrough or Cross out the Meh
Meh is anything that sucks. These are the things that you just think about it but you will never try to do, things that you should not do, you are not passionate about, out of your league or impossible to happen to you at the moment, and dragging the to do lists but you can never do it even after a year or so. For example, you always say you wanted to learn new skills but your time is not enough for it, you cannot put that in between work or after work. You even don’t know what kind of class you want to take up, you do not have money to enroll and it just slips on your mouth because you just heard it from someone. Clear that in your lists. Meh also could be the things that you can never squeeze it into your busy schedule.
Now we are done. Your lists are now official. Your lists include the realistic and reasonable activity that you need to do. Since we already filtered it, you can now start applying plans and time management on it to not overwhelmed you.
