Hard disc Internal/external

Postby ksridharprasad » 26 Dec 2014, 09:51

Hi Friends,

I could not delete some files from my C disc in my computer, I wish to buy a 500 GB or 1 TB additional hard disc for my computer. In market internal and external hard discs are available, if I buy internal hard disc i have to take the assistance of any technical person to install the disc in my computer. If I buy a external hard disc I can attach the same to my computer through USB slot on back side of my computer. Please suggest me in this regard.

I think external Hard disk is a good idea. Because, you can carry it anywhere with you and your data problem is solved and you have no hassle in handling it. It is very important that you handle it with care...Best of luck.. ;)

I received a 500 GD external hard drive from my brother. He brought a new one so he then decided to give the old one to me, it is still usable.

What kind of data do you have and how much do you value it? It's an unwritten rule that valuable data should go to internal drives for security reasons and put data you regularly need in portable drives for convenience and accessibility. Although it is not impossible to accidentally lose a CPU, losing a compact external hard disc, not to mention dropping one by accident is highly probable.

Just but external hard disk if you want to store more data. 500 GB of C is good enough. Just do some backups on your external if you buy one plus you can carry it and plug it where ever you want. You can retrieve and do some copy of your files. That is the advantage of external.

Its pretty easy to install an internal drive. You just need to get a sata cable and open up the side door of your desktop tower and plug the cable in and screw in the drive into the drive bays.

buying external hard disk is the best choice because you can connect it to other computer not just in your computer but on your friends computer or family so you can transfer file from your computer to them or vice versa but be careful not passing virus from your external hard drive to other computer or else you'll be he one to blame :D

I recommend an external HD.

They're amazing. And you can connect it to your TV to watch your own videos/pictures/etc.

Very good investment if you have the money Ksrid!

I have been considering buying an external one. I have about 30 DVD disc burned as data disc of music, poems, novels I started, work at home ideas and goodness knows what else. And tax info. I always worry someday those disc won't open what is on them so I feel maybe a hard drive is a good idea for me. I have a small storage drive installed in this computer but its old, so I don't use it.

Hi Friends,

Now I need not go for a external/internal hard disc, because I have removed the big files of sap. Previously I cannot delete them from system. But with some effort I can remove files from hard disc so there is lot of space in my D drive.

It's not too hard to install an internal hard drive; I can guide you if you like throUgh Skype or something. It's as simple as plugging in two cables, one that might come with the drive and another which is built into the power supply. Tell me if you need help installing an internal HDD :D

Hellow there bud ^^
You can install this all by yourself if you would like :)
Ain't that hard :D
Just need to write down the current specs of you computer and from what maker your part are (need that to check compatibility ^^) :D

If you only want to do it for storage, I do suggest to just buy and external hard drive :)
Way easier and more newbie friendly :)

External Hard disk its good because you can use in various laptop, while internal hard disk only serves to store the operating system and other data, if not cries disk partitions!

Spitting your hard drive into partitions won't help anything if you want to have more storage, you do this when you got allot of storage and divide your drive into 2 to use one as a backup :)

I agree, if you divide your drive into two it will only save you if your system becomes unstable. If something else like hard disk failure or natural disaster happens it won't help.

Yes, hard disk is very handy and versatile. It is good to have one. You will surely use it and make benefits of it. It is like a big form of flash drive. Bigger storage space is good.
