Listening to a repot on Al Jazeera English and they are interviewing a new female singer from Trinidad and a discussion of Soca music*.
*That's soca. Not “sokka” which was actually a misspeling on the news broadcast.
Soca music (also defined by Lord Shorty, its inventor, as the "Soul Of Calypso") is a genre of music that originated within a marginalized subculture in Trinidad and Tobago in the early 1970s, and developed into a range of styles by the 1980s and later. (Wikipedia)
Sokka was a Water Tribe warrior of the Southern Water Tribe and the son of Chief Hakoda and Kya. (wiki fandom)
