My Review Of Norton

Postby Masterminor » 13 Jun 2015, 05:05

I have heard from a few of my friends who are Webmasters that Norton is terrible for security. One of my friends even quoted "Norton is like a virus itself. I hate Norton." I had it pre-installed on my own laptop upon buying it for a 60 day free trial, and I must say I was unimpressed. I had better luck with a combination of the free versions of Ccleaner and MalwareBytes. What is your opinion on Norton?

I'm using Avast! its pretty light weight. I had installed a norton on my past unit and wasn't satisfied with it. My PC slowed, booting time takes up to 3 minutes. But since i removed it, it wasn't like that anymore.

Norton is a tier 2 antivirus. Simply it´s not good enough like Avast or Eset.

Way back in the mid 2000s we had Norton for a while and I hated it. For a long time I used my internet providers security but they raised the price to $3.95 per month for 5 licenses... I thought that was to much so I went with AVG since I never had problems with AVG.

CCleaner is not an antivirus nor is malware bytes. I would install a free AV such as AVG.

I am aware it's not. I also recently started using Ad-Aware Antivirus as well for more protection. I find it useful.

Norton AV was a good one before until popular AVs like Bitdefender, Kaspersky and McAfee became popular.
And here's some review here. BTW I Use Kaspersky Total Security. :D

I have used before and AVG is good but requires a lot of memory! Now I use Baidu Antivirus its simple and excellent, free of course! Norton never used but I've heard a lot about him and they all say that it is good as them!

Hi friends,

I too heard about Norton antivirus, but I have not used it I have used Avast antivirus some times. I think McAfee is the better antivirus in my view. Because that also I have used for one year.

I never trusted norton, because I was a hacker once and it was the easiest anti-virus that you can crypt virus from, so now i'm using AVG and I think i'm safer with it :)

Why don't just use "Internet Security" or it's Ultimate Suite and ditch that Malwarebytes?
That Malwarebytes was too Oldschool. Some People still using it huh?
I remember I using it just to remove the viruses/malwares on my PC when it had no Antivirus installed.

I think Norton sucks.I used it long time ago and it deleted my important files in system32 folder! .Then my computer started acting weird! So I was forced to format it and reinstall Windows again. Now I'm using Avast and it's working like a charm :D
