I don't think piracy is immoral. I believe that software and recording companies greatly overstate the economic impact of piracy.
For example, Adobe frequently reports profit margins of over twenty percent. Their programs are some of the most easily pirated on the internet. Most of their profit, I believe, comes from businesses purchasing their software. After all, do you really think that someone would pay ONE THOUSAND dollars for a program for
personal use?
There is another forum I frequented in the past where most of the people said they were against software piracy, yet most of them were in their teens and had the latest version of Photoshop. Somehow, that seems a little bit fishy to me.
