mylot - One of my favorite sites when I was just starting to explore the online world. I was attracted to the site not because of the earning but because of the different ideas and knowledge I get from interacting with people from all over the world. I found some Filipinos on the site too. I joined the old platform and I think this was the ideal site for me.

Why I love the old site? Well, it allows me to design my own page. We can place some graphics and banners on our own profile. We can design it using HTML. I am so active and I love designing my home page as much as I am actively participating in the discussion.

However, the time comes when the site needs to change and even if they returned with new design and rules, I am still looking for the old mylot. As of now, I am not very active there but still love to see my old posts are there.

How about you guys! Which version do you like more in mylot?

PS. I also discovered about Humanatic from mylot.

Re: Mylot...The Old vs the New

Postby Netherrealmer » 22 Oct 2020, 14:31

This is now the official Mylot thread. Continue talking about Mylot here. Nothing against the original thread, it is just healthier for our community if we have more threads created in 2020 at the first page. The Mylot thread will always find its place in the first page no matter what. So I believe a new version will be necessary. You can still read back to the old version if you like since its just locked and not deleted. Maybe after 3 years I will lock this again but for now let this new baby shine.

Being there since almost the very beginning, I do have to say I liked the older (pre-May 2013) design of the site, but as for an actual working site, I've had much more success monetarily in the version that operates now.

I myself don't find the design to be as important as how much I can earn from it.

That's good to know. Meaning, the site becomes more profitable with the new platform. I wish you more success with myLot and I might be active on the site again. I miss our friends there.

I ran a check on my earnings a few days ago and had made $1,425.70 in the past 63 months there. Used to take me 2-3 months to make $10 in the old version and now I average $22 per month.

I joined mylot in 2018 and so the version that is there now is pretty same as it was then. I think I joined when the old version talked about here was gone already. As time goes by, I realize that I am earning better in the site. I don't know what changed but it is good.

I can't quite remember when I joined MyLot but I think it was around 2014-15 and it's never changed since. So, I never experienced the old version and can't say how the two compare, sadly.

The earning comparison is easy to make.
It used to be you got paid for what you did, and that was that. Once paid, that discussion/response/comment you had made became 'dead' to any more earning potential.
Now, you do not get paid at all to make that discussion/response/comment. But it earns for every time someone else interacts with it until the Internet dies. Technically unlimited earning potential for it.

But oh, the site design...our profiles and home pages were a 1000 times more flexible and much more interesting. You could customize your home page to show particular groups of new discussions, you could edit your profile to show (or to not show) everything you did on the site, as mentioned HTML sorties on your profile, just a completely different world. Reminds me of the old MySpace profiles in a way.

Combining that design with this payment algorithm would be almost perfect.

I Think I have joined Mylot in 2017, so I have no idea how was the old version, so far I am happy with this one as I manage to receive a payment from them almost every month, usually only the minimum but that's okay as I also don't spend as much time as I want there.

New Alex of mylot is not treatable, if you are in social work, do not inform of tell anything like that.
Old Alex used to reply any query and was always helpful. This new is dictator and have his own, he can ban anyone even the old members without any reason and will never reply.
My Good Bye to that site.

Once again, you should not have offered to PM people information in a response. You got yourself banned for disobeying the Guidelines.

To quote directly what you said at myLot that caused you to be banned:

"If you allow me to PM you, then I'll give you some intro which are not allowed openly."

Its sad task got removed by those pesky offers. Now the offers are removed since most people avoid them anyway. I wish the tasks will be back.

Offers were removed because the company promoting them stopped communicating with the myLot owner. I doubt SharonBucks will ever return.

I have never done tasks in Mylot, so I don't really miss it but I know some people have earned well doing those tasks.

If I am not wrong now with the new changes we are being paid for the more interactions we receive for our inputs! That means we receive the earnings on;y if some one interact with us! We practically don't get anything for our own actions!

We used to not get paid anything for the interaction we received and only for the things we did. It is now the exact opposite.

What should be noted is before, we could only earn one time for each thing.

I did not know that that was the case. That is so unfortunate that we can't earn from our own actions towards others. So that means we should make more follows who will be active responding to our discussions. But that also means responding to theirs so we can all earn.
