This is my soap opera story.
My mom used to watch "The Edge of Night" (1956-1984) and she liked "General Hospital" (1963 - ). I never watched them.
My big sister watched "Love is a Many Splendored Thing' (1967-1973) and "One Life to Live" (1968-2013).
Because she watched them and I always hung out with her, I watched them too. We were hooked! We only watched them during the summer because there was no school. But the funny thing about soap operas is that you can miss several shows and still pick up where you left off. Most of the actors and actresses stayed with the show. You knew like they were family.
When I graduated from high school and started attending university there was no time to watch them. I was in class during the day. Back then we didn't have VCRs to record a TV show and watch later. I also did not have television in my room. So I stopped watching soap operas and never started watching them again.
