Oh, don't get me wrong---I call it 'Rachel' (have you seen the latest 'Rachel'? 'Rachel' this week was informative! ... though I'm sure some people might mistake that for Rachel Ray (But Wait! Have you ever seen Maddow & Ray the same space? I search for a picture of the two of them together, and the closest I can find is ...

... just like people called THE TONIGHT SHOW 'Johnny Carson' or 'Jay Leno' or 'Jimmy Fallon' or any of its other hosts' names, and now people ADD their own names to the names of the shows they host (LATE SHOW with ..., THE DAILY SHOW with ..., etc.)

and even OTHER MSNBC-shows do that (ALL IN with ..., THE LAST WORD with ...---I don't think either of those have had any other permanent hosts than the ones they have now (who'll probably 'take the names with them when they go'), but ...);

But my point is that I'm not watching the show 'to see Rachel Maddow.' I'm watching it to see 'what she is seeing, the way she sees everything.' And HOW does she see everything? Well, I think the show should be named THE CAP'N O.G. READMORE SHOW (As Rachel WAS one who learned to read at a very early age)

That way 'the transition to a new host' will be as smooth as the introduction of a new James Bond.

In an old news-story (from 2021), it said she's on a contract with NBC/Universal---the story (on CNN's site) was 'mostly rumors'--i.e. no on-the-record response from MSNBC--but she HAS cut her show from 'weekdays' to 'once (or twice? or maybe they just re-run the one time) per week,' and they say they made/are-making a movie based on her podcast.

They say that she 'is' (or 'was') "the linchpin of MSNBC."

The word "linchpin" (I thought it was a wordroot spelled 'lynchpin,' but I guess not ... with an obsolete abbreviation "Linch") means "the Peg (or Pin) that Holds a Wheel on its Axle," so Rachel was metaphorically 'the thing that keeps the network's "wheels" on'---as all the people who are called "Linchpins" do for their organizations.

Nice graduation photo. I don't watch the show now because we don't have cable TV. But I'm OK with the name "The Rachel Maddow Show" because she is the reason I watch the show. I like her analyses and summaries. She is the one researching and summing things up. I think it's right to call the show by her name. Give credit where credit is due.

You can't call it Rachel because most people think of Rachael Ray. She is way too popular. As for the name of this forum, it suits it and the owner named it right. (My opinion.) It's a community where you can earn forum coins. That's what makes this forum special.

And we don't watch 'that show' because we're big fans of Maddow; we watch it because she honestly tells us how history honestly went ... just like Adam Conover, or any other BIG NERD who reports history

Anyway! I don't get the show anymore. All I can say is that I miss it. I don't get The Daily Show either. But I only really liked it when Jon Stewart was the host.
