When is Forumcoin upgrading its theme, php version, server, phpBB version and maybe layout?

When is Forumcoin upgrading its theme, php version, server, phpBB version and maybe layout?

Feels like it could do with a change up.

Few issues with a potential upgrade that I know of:

• The credit addon the forum uses, hasn't been updated in years. The person that created the addon hasn't been actively engaged with maintaining it, since he created it for Forum Promotion, when Forum Promotion was on phpBB.
• Styles would need to be updated and the appearance may drastically change if the theme doesn't have a current version of it that any changes to the theme itself can be kept with the update.
• If a change to the forum software is done outside of phpBB (like switching to xenForo), a significant amount of money would be needed to invest into making sure things are brought over that wouldn't naturally be included in a switch and update.

As Joshua says there are some challenges to doing an upgrade of our forum software. It is something we do plan for the future but don't have a definite timeline for it yet. Thanks for your question Bizdustry.com.

Why not just change theme but keep platform?

Thanks mrki444, we probably will remain on the phpBB forum software and will require an update of that software in the future. Not sure what we will do about the theme yet.

May be you can create a separate Fund where you can accumulate over a period of time.
Once a sufficient threshold is reached, an upgrade can be done.
Also, members can be asked to donate perhaps once or twice a year, albeit in a limited manner; but with consent.
