Becoming a Hollywood actor in the silent film era is much more easier. First the number of actors are minimal so the rivals to get a role is much more easier. You don't even need to be fluent in English since the movies are silent and only uses subtitles. Most Hollywood actors during the Silent film era are Europeans and because there is no audio, their accents wont be a hindrance.
Before Hollywood became racist in 1930s (interracial kisses were illegal and white people play Asian roles)
There is a Japanese actor who get romantic roles during the silent Era.
