Its centenarian population has reached a record high of 99,763, marking the 55th consecutive annual increase.
Women constitute a remarkable 88% of this group, highlighting the nation's world-leading longevity.

That thing is half good news, half bad news. Good news because, you know, they know the secret to longevity and great health. Bad news because not enough babies are being born.

Can't say I'm surprised. I lived in Japan for 5 years and that was the healthiest I've ever been in my life. They also take care of their people and have great healthcare so living until 100 isn't even out of the norm there.

I read about it too, Japanese have a very healthy lifestyle, they eat well and do gymnastics all their life besides that they take care of their old people which is fundamental for their longevity.

True. Their active lifestyle, and the way they respect and care for the elderly plays a huge role.

It's such an interesting country, I'd really love to visit one day and try living a typical Japanese lifestyle for a while to see what it's like. A few of my friends are visiting there soon, I'm so jealous...

I think we have a lot to learn with them, they are very civilized and respectful and they don't seem to be workaolic. i wish I could visit it but unfortunatelly I can't afford such a long trip.

Yes a lot to learn. However, I think there are many in the Working Age population in Japan who have to work a lot.
So that could be one thing to think about there.
However, I think other facilities & perks compensate for that.

Are they happy? Generally, with increased longevity and lesser lifestyle disorders, they are meant to be happy and contented, but is this the reality? I heard they have a culture of overworking themselves to death (and they have a term for that too), I wonder whether they keep on postponing their death, or they are truly living through the years.

When I was a kid, there was this group of people somewhere in Russia, and they were centenarians. Supposedly, it was the yogurt they ate.

But considering Japan is a country that's smaller than the state of Texas, and they had two bombs dropped on them, their centenarian population is A MIRACLE!

This is exciting news for Japan; the number of centenarians reaching 99,763 is a record and gives hope for a longer life.

The factors listed — a nutritious diet, strong healthcare, and a culture that focuses on purpose — can teach us a lot about living well.

Even if our circumstances are different, we can take these lessons: eating mindfully, taking care of our health, and finding meaning. So let’s adopt small habits that can increase our quality of life and longevity. Small steps like taking a daily walk, cutting back on processed foods, and focusing on healthy relationships can go a long way toward making a difference.

a daily walk? Not in my neighborhood.
cutting back on processed foods? I'm doing better at avoiding them.
focusing on healthy relationships? I do have good relationships, both with people online and offline.
I'm very happy I found online communities, <3
