Univision Returns to YouTube TV

Postby germainebull » 27 Nov 2025, 05:10

This story of YouTube TV and Televisa Univision disagreement was a terrible drama for subscribers. Channels like Univision UniMás TUDN and Galavision were cut off for almost two months due to a payment dispute. Now they have made a new agreement and those channels are back on the base plan and the Spanish package. This is a big relief for many people who rely on Spanish content every day.

What's new is that the premium streaming service Vix will also be sold through YouTube Primetime Channels in the US and Mexico. This expands access to digital content and makes things easier for entertainment and sports fans. Financial details were not disclosed but it is obvious that there was tension over fees.

As a result, Univision was still strong even during the blackout, holding high numbers in Nielsen prime time. YouTube TV with more than ten million subscribers is now gaining strength again with Hispanic viewers. Univision often beats Telemundo for shows and news. So this deal means subscribers get back to getting their content without stress and YouTube TV remains stable.

Isn't Univision the Mexican company that airs telenovelas in United States? They don't really put English subtitles on their content, so I don't really care if they put it on YouTube or not. If they want a bigger audience, they need to start adding subtitles.

Univision is not a Mexican company but a large American network based in New York and owned by TelevisaUnivision which also includes media power from Mexico. They are the leader in Spanish language broadcasting in the United States and telenovelas are a large part of their content. It is true that they often do not provide subtitles in English and that makes the audience mostly people who understand only Spanish. If they provided subtitles they could reach more people especially on online platforms like YouTube where viewers expect accessibility. This would increase their market and bring diversity to the audience.

Kdrama is popular because its storylines have fresh emotions and twists that keep viewers hooked until the end. When Univision airs telenovelas that often don't have English subtitles, it becomes difficult to reach a large audience. Kdrama has built a global fanbase because many platforms provide subtitles and accessibility is high. This allows many people worldwide to continue consuming their content without stress. So the competition is open and Kdrama wins with vibe and reach.

It's a TV network that airs Mexican telenovelas and other Latin telenovelas to United States. They also make Spanish-language American telenovelas. They don't add subtitles on their telenovelas, so if you are not a Spanish speaker, you will not understand their shows.

Univision was founded in 1962 as the SIN, or the Spanish International Network. :)
