There is a paradigm shift when it comes to accepting invitations to attend events
During the good old days unless there was a good relationship between the host and the invitee, invitations were turned down,
Others would then try to get them together and try to sort out differences if any and only when they are sorted out will the invitee accept and attend the event
This approach helped society to have a healthy environment as attending events keeping a grudge or a misunderstanding as it now happens does not seem to be in the best choice. I remember there was an event in my neighbourhood when someone attended that event even though there was a court case against each other They just came sat among the guests had food but did not talk to the hosts. And neither did they wish each other
There was a Meet at my house of the extended family recently which was requested for by one of my nieces.
I was told the entire lot agreed to attend the Meet. I had no other alternative but agree to the suggestion
The fact of the matter is many of those who attended had stayed away for years from us - no visits, no mails,no phone calls no nothing.
Both me and the guests had a great time as no questions were asked and whatever differences that were there were not touched upon. It was one happy Meet.
We are now back to square one - no emails exchanged, no phone calls, no nothing.
This is the trend that I see that today's youth believes in . They have no desire to interact with each other but just get together and have fun despite having differences or they may even hate each other .
I belong to the old school of thought. But I have lost the battle. Getting together I notice is here to stay with no one on one interaction which I truly miss. The one on one interaction I notice is need based. Whatever help that the elders extended in the past is all forgotten neither talked about nor discussed.
This festering of ill feelings without redressal will one day have bad consequences.
I have noticed one thing in my pets. The mother will nurture their young ones and give them freedom – they will never meet again.
The image is where I have made an appeal to those who attended the Meet.
What is your stand on this?
