The CSIR-IIIM Jammu has officially launched India’s inaugural cannabis medicine project, marking a pivotal shift in the country's pharmaceutical landscape.
This public-private partnership aims to develop high-quality drugs to treat conditions like epilepsy and cancer pain.
By leveraging the therapeutic potential of "Cannabis sativa", the initiative transitions the plant from a legal taboo to a clinical breakthrough.
This was recently announced by the Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) Science & Technology, Dr Jitendra Singh.
