Nvidia DLSS5

Postby Netherrealmer » 17 Mar 2026, 01:44

new graphics card affect 3D video games and make them look realistic. Their secret is using AI to improve the graphics. Example, the example video I'm showing is Resident Evil 9 Requiem, and they make the protagonist, Grace Ashcroft, look like a real person. Usually, video games stylize the video game characters and don't make them look realistic, even if they kind of look human, to avoid uncanny valley, but NVIDIA goes hard on uncanny valley with their new graphics card. I wonder if their AI technology can work on older 3d video games and make them look realistic.

but this graphics card kind of contradicts with what the vision of the creator of the video game is. Certain creator of video games uses a certain kind of lighting because that is the atmosphere they want to have, and this graphics card contradicts with the vision of the video game creator.

What a mess this has become! I like the idea, I see a lot of potential here, but what I really don't like is that the improved visual changes the entire aesthetic and it's literally a ChatGPT filter, haha. That doesn't make sense. They clearly need to improve it because it's pointless that instead of looking more realistic, it changes the characters' aesthetic direction.

Actually, this is the worst thing. The filter also works for some 2D games, and you know, 2D characters are meant to look 2D. They're not meant to look realistic.

Currently, your hard disk should be a terabyte size because the RAM this graphics card consumes is 30 gigabytes.
