Preferred AA Cells (dry Battery cells)

Postby ptrikha21 » 07 Mar 2026, 17:01

AA cells - Dry Battery cells are used in devices like Wireless mouse, electricity fed festive lights, Musical Instruments, Toys and similar devices.
I have preferred Eveready (Red Colored), Nippon and Duracell (One with a Rabbit that can run and run....).
Duracell last longer but cost a bit more.
Nippon were ok.
We also now have Eveready Ultima.
I think there were a few more brands in the past but these two / three seem to be dominating here.

What has been your preference.

I am interested to know!!

I usually buy cheap batteries in discount stores. They are significantly cheaper than the branded ones. For me they last well enough, probably not as long as the big brands, but the significant price difference means that they are still a saving overall.

These days, I sometimes prefer rechargeable AA batteries for things like musical instruments or gaming controllers because they can save money in the long run

We do not have those many options.
Yet even in Branded, prices vary from more high range to lower range ones.

I did use rechargeable batteries in the past.
The recharging device did cause some issues so I stopped using after some time.

I am using AA batteries rarely of late. My preference is however Eveready. The black ones.

Black Eveready batteries are more potent.
