Re: Entertainment : My K-Drama Watched List

I have started watching 4 Korean dramas but 2 are holding my attention and they are both Netflix originals.

Mr. Sunshine and Rooky Librarian.

Life during the Joseon dynasty sure wasn't easy!

OK! I'm done and now have 3 K-dramas under my belt. Mr. Sunshine, Rooky Librarian, and My Sassy Girl. I will probably write a review and publish at one of my blogs. I was disappointed with My Sassy Girl. It slowed down in too many scenes and sort of made certain parts boring.

I started watching "The King". I like it so far, even though it's fantasy.
I was watching "The Kingdom" but it's too far-fetched for me.
In this series, the king turned into a monster.
At least in "The King", the guy has a noble character and he's really good-looking.

Ever since I added Viki to my Fire TV apps, I've really been enjoying K-dramas.

Currently watching "Flower Crew: Joseon Marriage Agency". The main characters are so adorable. :D

Conservatives will like K dramas because its conservative friendly but not Pureflix level of prudeness. Japan on the other hand loves themes like Incest and Ebephophelia on their dramas, Thai Dramas is too LGBT that it became a genre there, Latin dramas have too open mouth kissing. Turkish dramas are too long.

My only regret is that I don't speak Korean. That way my eyes don't grow weary reading the English subtitles.

Today I found it very difficult to work so I finished watching "Flower Crew: Joseon Marriage Agency". It was part serious, part lighthearted. What I really liked was that each episode was named after a flower.

I have watched 2 K-dramas about zombies. "Kingdom" and "Kingdom: Ashin of the North". Both of them were historical and all I can say is ... they need burn all fields and gardens or any place where the Resurrection plant grows. I never knew there was such a plant. It's real! It's also called Rose of Jericho. You can buy it at Walmart.

I love the time travel series. So far I've watched:

Mr. Queen (2020)
Rooftop Prince (2012)
Live Up to Your Name (2017)
Splash Splash Love (2015)
Must You Go? (2021)
Dr. Jin (2012)
My Only Love Song (2017)

I really liked them!

Netflix have a series called Narcos which is true to life stories of Drug lords.

The first series is about Pablo Escobar
The 2nd series is about the Mexican Cartel.

Now there is a 3rd series called Narcos Saints which is set in Suriname, which is about the Korean drug lords who holds that country with an ironfist. So Netflix have a mostly Korean cast for this 3rd iteration of Narcos. First Narcos series not in Spanish. A K-drama Narcos

I really enjoyed the first two series of narcos, very gritty and certainly very interesting stories. I hadn't known there was a third series, will definitely look out for that.

I did see Narco Saints on Netflix. I have already seen the series about Pablo Escobar. It was intense! I'm sure the K-drama is just as intense.

No surprise Lee Jung-Ae got an Emmy. She's a terrific actress deserving of lots of awards.

I have not watched Squid Games because K-dramas are very time-consuming. Even though I enjoy them, I am watching them so that I can write reviews to earn money. Lots of people have already written about Squid Games. I doubt I would have anything to add. I am thinking of asking Viki if they would add me as a paid writer for their entertainment blog.

Just me thinking.

My bad. I Googled it to make sure and completely disregarded that the search results were for Lee Young-ae.

She's a Korean actress I liked and I thought ... Oh? She got an Emmy? That's great!

Lee Jung-jae is also a Korean actor that I like a lot! That's who I was thinking won the Emmy but I got sidetracked when the search results showed the actress that I liked.

I've seen Lee Jung-jae in lots of series and movies. Whether he's a good guy or bad guy, he's really good in his role! So it's no surprise he got an award.
