Prey revives the Predator Franchise

Postby Netherrealmer » 15 Aug 2022, 16:07

The first Predator movie made Arnold Schwarzenegger become a bigger star. Predator is about an alien race called Yautja, they are warrior aliens who collects skulls of the warriors they defeated. The first movie is set in a war, Yautja's aliens goes to the war zone to collect skulls of the American Soldiers and rebels at war. Arnold played character named Dutch and the cat and mouse showdown between him the Yautja made a hit movie. Dutch was the only Survivor from his team.

Why Yautjas collect skulls?

Yautjas are warrior aliens from a Matriarchal society and their women will only mate with the men who collect the most skulls.

So Yeah, Dutch's friends died because some Yautja wants to impress ladies.

Yautjas loves attacking Warzones because they want skulls of soldiers.
-----------

Because Arnold never returned in Predator sequels, the sequels are flopping as movies gone by, Then Prey happen and save the movie franchise.

Prey is a prequel of Predator 300 years before Vietnam War.

The main character is a Native American girl named Naru, who saw a Yautja kill a bear. She tried to warn her tribemates that there is a "demon" attacking their village but they don't believe her. The Yautja is not killing her because he underestimates her because she is a 16 year old teenager.

The Predator attacking Native Americans and French fur trapper is an awesome concept. Native Americans rarely get representation in Hollywood so its cool to see a science fiction movie with a mostly Native American cast.

Because the movie is a hit, They might make a sequels set in Feudal Japan,Pre-colonial India,Medieval England, Viking era Norway, and many more. They want to explore ancient cultures dealing with technologically advanced Yautjas.

I thought the plot of the original movie was placed somewhere in Latin or South America. There was even an indian in the crew of commandos.

Oh yeah You are correct, I got confused a bit because the character Dutch was a Vietnam Veteran. I already corrected my mistake. So I assumed it was Vietnam. I edited the mistakes.

I think this statement is little wrong. They don't want any rebel or have something agains Americans. They want fight so they go in war zone so they can become better warriors. They observe, engage and learn about new fight techniques.

I was in my car listening to the radio and heard the interview of the lady they picked to star in this movie. There was a lot of emphasis on the fact that she was a Native American. She said she is not a Comanche but she went to the Comanches and asked them to give a genuine review of the film and maybe give her "tips" to make her acting more authentic. I think I watched all of the Predator movies. I'll probably watch this one.

Yes, If you will binge the Whole Predator franchise it will be first in the timeline.

I heard the sequels will now explore other Ancient civilizations like Vikings, Romans, Samurais, Knights etc. They just realized Predators are more dangerous against Ancient people.
