Remember Casper the friendly ghost? He is the next classic cartoon character to have the Riverdale treatment. He won't be a little boy anymore and because the new show will be marketed to Teenage girls, he is going to have abs and be shirtless a lot.
I mean if you read the classic Archie comics or old Archie cartoons he was a nerdy ginger but in Riverdale he is sexually active and always have an excuse to take his shirt off.


This new version of Casper will have horror and romance elements.


The reboot wont be based from the cartoons but from the 1995 live action film where Casper fell in love.


In the 1995 Casper movie, Casper had a chance to have a human form for few minutes.


Most likely he will be in a love triangle with Kat and Wendy the Witch.

Casper is popular in the 1960s so most of his fans are Baby Boomers now.

I learned about Casper from a work fight, lol. My colleague complained that she no longer wanted to work with 'Casper' (who was revealed to be her supervisor). I didn't get the impression Casper was friendly though.

I like the trailer and since it features real horror I'll go for it. I guess I'd have to see the 1995 film first. Usually this allows you to follow along easily with the newer release.

I didn't know he had chance become human. Looks I remember of it only from old cartoons.

Why they just don't take another kid? I also didn't know ghost are getting older.

Obviously they will make him older teen but the actor is adult in the reboot so they can sexualize him like Archie.

Could young Sheldon (Iain Armitage) could be Casper? He have experience in animated movies to. He borrow voice in PAW Patrol: The Movie.

I dont think so, He is 14 years old. The reboot is said to be sexy horror like Riverdale. They will hire a guy on his early 20s playing a teenager. If a Teenage character in a primetime tv show in the US, Makes out with someone, that actor is mostly 21 to 30 years old. 15 year olds in the US still plays 12 year old roles.

But why make Casper teenager? Find another kid for actor like 10 years old.

They want a familiar IP to sexualize like Riverdale which became a hit. he will still be a ghost but a sexy ghost.

These two aspects are thought to be diametrically opposed.
Creatives are just the bomb.
