A lot of Asian parents and African Immigrant parents in the US dont want their kids to pursue acting because they will end up unemployed because 10 years ago Hollywood was very racist but You know what, People of color should pursue acting in the US now for 1 reason. TV Network CBS is now forcing all tv producers on their TV Network to make sure all of their TV shows to be 50% people of color. Yes Half of the cast of most CBS shows now are
People of color ( Asian,Black,Biracial,Latino, Native American)

If you will look at MCU right now, they are now giving lead roles to non white actors. CW also always have POC actors on their casts, they even turned white characters into POC's for diversity. Even the TV and movie company with racist history like Fox and Paramount are casting POC actors now.

Netflix also diversify the cast of their shows now after their controversy with Death Note. Hollywood is not as racist at it use to be. Remember the times when they cast White actors to play Asian characters. They don't do it anymore.

Denzel Washington as Macbeth. I think he will do well in the role.

I think Aspiring actors who are POC should prioritize CBS and CW to get roles. I mean CBS just gave a lead role to a Nigerian woman for a sitcom and her show is now renewed for a 3rd season. Just dont audition at Fox as they love cancelling shows. 2022 is also said to be the year of the Milfs because older women are getting romantic lead roles again instead of unattractive mom roles and hag roles.

A lot of white actors in Hollywood are British, Australian,Canadian and European. So yeah other nationalities had thrived in Hollywood not just Immigrants. Priyanka Chopra got a lead role for a tv series in Hollywood before and still getting roles for movies. So Indians had penetrated Hollywood already.

Also more POC actors are getting roles now because of CBS 50% POC rule in casting.

And perhaps Bollywood also does something to attract actors from other nationalities. The issue here seems to be too much hold of a few top actors/stars and Production houses and some negative things that happened in the recent years. But yes, variety would be the norm in Hollywood in the coming times, it seems.

I know a lot of stars in Bollywood are Biracial Indians who grew up from foreign countries who barely speaks Hindi. There is also Amy Jackson who is white British who plays Indian roles in some movies in Bollywood and Tamil movies.

Yes and a couple more. Even the female actor Katrina Kaif is of Afghan-British parentage.

Having grown up in the generation where Katherine Hepburn played an Asian woman, David Carradine was cast as "grasshopper", and white guys always played Native Americans, it would be nice to see some better casting for parts that should be POC.

Sometimes I don't like this sort of thing because it can be taken too far. For instance, I would hate to see great POC actors cast in roles just to tick the boxes, to make up the race quota. Are you talking about the race bending of the Red head characters. Also why it always have to the red heads instead of making a new character that is original

That is a good way to deal with racism, I am so glad I was born anywhere around places that are faced with racism. I am just glad am in a country where almost everyone is like me and I have never faced racism.

Why is it called racism when a white person plays the part of an Asian person and yet it's applauded when a black person plays the part of a historical white figure?

I'm really not one to say we should employ people based on color, but sometimes it works better when it's true to history.

Only 5 % of roles in Hollywood are for Asians, So Scarlett Johansson and Tom Cruise getting to play Japanese roles are hella racist. Since they have taken away roles meant for the 5%. If a POC gets a white role, The white actors still have the 90% of roles roles available for them. White actors had a century of taking away POC roles.

Also When a Black woman gets to play a White role, She is actually hated... The Anne Boleyn TV drama starring a Black actress got a backlash. The Black Anne Boleyn show is actually badly criticized for not being historically accurate.

I heard an Actress from the Philippines just got her big Hollywood break. There is also an Indonesian actor who is now mainstream in Hollywood and got roles in Mortal Kombat.

So black man will act knight in time around 1587. year but first bigger rights black people got after American Civil War around 1861-1865. Where did we lost 300 years of slavery? Should movies and books be related to history or we will make new category in movies - not history correct?
